The Illustration Friday word of the week is lonely.
Have you ever walked in the forest alone, thinking with your mind, “I am lonely…,” but then suddenly felt in your heart the sweet fullness of existence?
“The Fullness of Existence” (watercolor, pen & ink)

I have done that! There’s something about a woods or forest, the has a feeling of loneliness, but being at peace with it. The trees have a secret language and they share it with you, if you’re quiet enough or lonely enough for them to reach out to you. Beautiful illustration!
Why yes I have
This reminds me of blowing smoke rings next to the river. I really like the texture in this. Nice to see you posting!
Love the handling of the pigment, here! And yes, whenever I’m alone in the trees, I can feel their calming presence, even better if there is water trickling nearby. Good to see you on IF again!

Love the perspective. Beautiful drawing.
This is wonderful!! And yes, I have as well. I was just sitting in my back yard with only the sounds of birds and a breeze. Lonely? I think not
The simple beauty of the trees and the symbolism of the rings really adds up to a wonderful composition–very evocative of “lonely,” but also of “hopeful.” Great work, as usual
